The first footprints of man are believed to be found in Africa. We like to think that man mastered fire here and then we assume that the first food was cooked in Africa.

Africa is vast. So vast that if you take the whole of North America, Europe, China, India and Argentina and put it all into this continent, you'd still have room left over. Considering this, an African journey may seem like biting off more than you can chew to even the most adventurous traveller!

Fortunately, two South African chefs are offering a more digestible way to experience the continent: discovering Africa through its cuisine. African cuisine? At this point, most non-Africans would dismiss this option quicker than you could say mopane worms, but rest assured, there is much more to Flavours of Africa than pan-fried caterpillars. In fact, insects don't feature at all on the menu, and the food is but half the story.
